Most people who are not experts in wines have heard stories, legends almost, of ancient bottles of wine, centuries old, and have by extrapolating from the idea that aging a wine is good: an ancient wine must be great. The problem is that most people don't realize that the corks deteriorate and a bottle of red wine older than 25 years is risking destruction when the cork fails.
