The meeting began and ended in a timely fashion. The word of the day was "Penchant". Two speeches, from the basic manual, were given.

There was a discussion on the distinction between a tall tales entry and a proper humorous speech. Attempts were made to distinguish how a speech must have structure and a coherent message that are not as necessary in a tall tale or other purely humorous presentation. While we weren't entirely successful in determining what is needed there was an feeling that the judges of the last few years may not have understood this distinction either and that there is room for improvement in the speeches.
