Theme: Grab bag

On May 16th we drew slips of paper (from a sauce pan rather than a hat, since it seemed appropriate) which contained: a course, an ingredient and sometimes a restriction.
 
Members who missed the drawing can let me know and I'll randomly select one of the remaining slips.

Business Meeting

No quorum so no vote on Sharon Roth as VP-M. Recommended that Rtuh as President appoint Sharon as VPM until have a quorum to take a vote.

Discussion to set wine tour date. After considering options selected August 8th 2010 for Wine Tour 3. (By concensus and appointment.)
(note: Request by Ruth that in next wine tour (4) we consider Sharp Hill Winery.)

Treasurer's report:
As of March 31st 2010: 718.68
Used $30 District Store Credit received for making Distinguished by April towards $60 packet of advanced manuals (as discussed by officers at district conference.) Normally each manual is sold for $5 - proposed to sell to memebrs for $4 each.
 
Proposal to order President's Pin and Past President's Pin so can have official ceremony for change of president where outgoing president receives the Past President Pin and passes on President's pin to incoming; and that this be made an annual feature.

Note: Joe Zafian as been appointed as MenuMaster to coordinate menus so they are well distributed (not all desserts or such).

Discussion

Proposal by Joe Zafian: Public Gourmet meeting, held at public facility so have space for guests, to showcase our format.

Suggestion to redo Parliamentary Procedure Seminar but alternate suggestion that have a different topic.
Proposed an Evaluation Workshop
Including: How to evaluate a bad speech; How as novice to evaluate an advanced speech.
Richard Frantz and Dolly Reed considering doing it as a joint HPL

Need to consider if offering to host Area Contest

Richard Frantz investigating Listserv or similar software so can centralize email list. Possibly in FTH server.

Reminder: were considering "Grammarian Contest" since have several excellent grammarians and know several in other clubs in area/vicinity

Sharon Roth commended the position of Area Governor or Assistant Area Governor and also other district offices. Interated by several. Comment by Richard Frantz that he felt Area Governor was the best district job.

Proposed to take photos at the July meeting for the brochure being worked on.

Proposal to vote at end of meal for Favorite dish (alternately worded as best sutied to theme or best expressed.)
